Carmelo Buffoli (1962) had a passion for conceptual and minimalist art from the very beginning. Hieronymus Bosch was an important guide for the artist, as were Sol LeWitt, Joseph Kosuth, Jenny Holzer, John Baldessari, and many others. When he attended art school, he found the approach too linear and dogmatic for his liking. Consequently, he left, realizing that art cannot be learned through conventional means, but rather acquired his skills over time. After spending time in Paris during his twenties, Carmelo Buffoli established his own advertising company in Zurich, Switzerland (1993). Twelve years ago, After living for several years in Paris and Barcelona, he returned to Switzerland and made the decision to dedicate a much larger part of his time to art.
